Earthquake jolts Islamabad, Peshawar and surrounding areas

A moderate 5.3-magnitude earthquake jolted parts of Pakistan including federal capital on Wednesday afternoon which led to panicked residents coming out on the streets.

The quake shook Islamabad, Peshawar, landi Kotal, Swat, Khyber and surrounding areas.

So far, no loss of life or property has been reported. Everyone is safe.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department said the earthquake was 159km deep and its epicentre lay in the Hindukush region in Afghanistan.
